Summer is over: what you ‘ve missed, what’s next!

After a short summer break, the symbIoTe consortium has resumed its work on IoT interoperability. Many things to be done in the next weeks, but let’s take a look first on what we have been doing the previous months…

IoT Week, 31 May – 2 June 2016, Belgrade, Serbia

IoT European Platforms Initiative (IoT-EPI) Workshop, 22-23 June 2016, Valencia, Spain

symbIoTe members attended the 1st IoT-EPI workshop in Valencia, where representatives from the other 8 IoT projects of the Initiative, as well as independent IoT experts from the European research community, joined forces and discussed about the challenges of the IoT interoperability and exchanged ideas on how the Initiative could help its members on aspects like innovation, business models, IoT accelerators, international cooperation and educational platforms.

European Conference on Networks and Communications (EuCNC), 28-30 June 2016, Athens, Greece

Dr. Sergios Soursos, symbIoTe’s Coordinator, presented the joint paper entitled “Towards the Cross-Domain Interoperability of IoT Platforms” by S. Soursos, I. Podnar Zarko, P. Zwickl, I. Gojmerac, G. Bianchi and G. Carrozzo, during the 25th Edition of the European Conference on Networks and Communications (EuCNC).

Industry of Internet of Things: Experience, challenges and evolution, SpliTech, 13-15 July 2016, Split, Croatia

Prof. Ivana Podnar Zarko, symbIoTe’s Technical Coordinator, was invited to give a talk on IoT interoperability challenges during the IoT Workshop of the International Multidisciplinary Conference on Computer and Energy Science (SpliTech).

But that’s not all! As you may have seen in our web site and Twitter account, symbIoTe along with BIG IoT, both members of the IoT-EPI, are organizing the 2nd International Workshop on Interoperability and Open-Source Solutions for the Internet of Things (InterOSS-IoT),  to be collocated with the 6th International Conference on the Internet of Things (IoT 2016), in Stuttgart, Germany. This full-day workshop will take place on November 7, 2016. We have already published the Call for Papers and we are accepting submissions till the 16th of September. So, hurry up!
